Food and Myths?

Hey beauty queens~

So I've decided to try out something new. Instead of posting a MILLION topics in one post I think I am going to cover one topic per post. That way my posts will SEEM more organized. (But mostly, it is because one post usually took me forever to post if there is more than one topic.)

Well.... lets explore our foods shall we?

What are some foods that give you more energy and are healthy?

1. Free Range Eggs
Eggs have tons of protein which will provide muscle strength and stamina. It will also fill your appetite. But remember it should be FREE RANGE eggs NOT caged.

2. Dark Chocolate
Chocolate is a natural heart healthy antioxidant. Most chocolate will give you an energy boost, but chocolate that is 80 percent cocoa solids or more will be extremely good for the heart! (besides I LOVE DARK CHOCOLATE~ I find it to be a great alternative instead of having coffee.)

3. Coconut Oil
Doctors claim this oil to be wonderfully healthy even as a type of fat but also it promotes lovely weight loss! There is fewer calories in Coconut oil and thus the fat is easier to convert to energy creating it to be a great energy booster!

I want better skin, what are some foods that will help me?

1. Salmon
I personally love salmon thus the reason why I chose Salmon as an example, but generally any deep cold water fish will provide you with tons of protein that will benefit not only your skin but your hair also. Salmon has powerful anti inflammatory benefits thus your skin will avoid as much as acne as possible and also it will keep the skin supple and wrinkle free, moods upbeat, and your brain functioning at optimal levels.

2.Watercress
It is a blood purifier to clear toxins. I do not like how it tastes much but it is super useful in terms of clearing your skin from acne, preventing future ERUPTIONS or rashes... or even other skin infections!

3.Cinnamon
Cinnamon like salmon also has an anti inflammatory function. Unlike salmon, it also function as a strong antioxidant. While "nomnoming" on Cinnamon, you'll notice that it has a very strong aroma which apparently boosts cognitive processing in our brain which improves things such as memory and attention span. ( I LOVE CINNAMON, THUS MORE THE REASON WHY I SHOULD HAVE MORE!) Cinnamon also have to property to lower blood sugar thus won't make us as susceptible to obesity, diabetes, and wrinkles.

4. Green Tea
Green tea leaves contains antioxidant polyphenols which eliminate inflammation producing radicals! Polyphenols actually protects healthy cells from bad cancer causing DNA. Green teal could even potentially benefit skin diseases, because green tea can reactivate dying skin cells! I personally would recommend to get caffeine free green tea though because its more healthy.

FOOD MYTHS?

Do Chocolate and Sugar seriously cause breakouts?

Answer? It is a myth. There is certainly correlation between having too much sugar and then getting a complete breakout a week later. But sugar is not proven to be the caused of such breakouts. Some dermatologists do claim it may be the cause for some individuals because sugar "increase the overall levels of inflammation in the body" meaning acne will appear because of clogged pores, excessive oil and perhaps cysts. If you want to stick to the safe side, I would recommend everyone to stick to having wonderful dark chocolate~

Does Alcohol Give You BAD Skin?

Answer? This is NO myth. Alcohol does indeed give you : Puffy eyes, sallow looking skin, and even a blotchy complexion. If you drink a lot, as soon as the very next morning you may expect to see very dark dark circles around your eyes,  crepe y skin and even fine lines may appear. You may ask why? That is because alcohol is a toxin to our body.... more specifically our liver. Booze will mess with our liver enzymes and in bigger doses will dehydrate our skin as well as reduce collagen production.

If you happen to drink a lot, you may eventually find your skin to be flushing with broken blood vessels, and even increasing deep wrinkles, also super big pores. I would avoid drinking if I were anyone, but if the temptation is too big, then by diluting the ethanol with water and eating fibrous foods and multivitamin pills is greatly recommended.

Er.... Well looks like this is all i have to share for today. It's currently 2 AM and I am dead tired. I'll talk to you guys next post about SLEEP~

Till next time,
Josie
